[event] Autumn: Harvest & Rot
A Work That Reconnects spiral event for the Autumn Equinox
It’s the Autumn Equinox here in the Southern Hemisphere. Let’s gather.
Where the day and night sit in a perfect, precarious balance….. for just a moment…before we start the long wander into the dark.
The changing of the season is a our blunt reminder from this living Earth that we are part of cycles and rhythms far bigger than we can understand, and way more important and mysterious than the frenetic daily doingdoingdoingdoing that our modern context demands of us.
Can we pause for a teeny moment to dwell here?
Autumn is the season of ripening
and shedding
the season of honesty
and discernment
and strangeness
and the delight of being nourished by something plump and juicy
it’s the relief of the cooling air
and the grief of the fading light
Autumn is shadows
Autumn is golden things
Autumn is the dying of that which no longer serves the tree
Autumn is harvest and rot.
The Work That Reconnects offers us ways to hold and share all this. Join us for a spiral gathering as we:
Pause with the season at its precious balancing point
Give thanks for the wild harvests of the last few months (even the ones we didn’t ask for)
Make space for our gratitude, our grief, our hopes, our fears
Seeing the time of collapse we’re in with new eyes
Wonder what tiny, stubborn, strange or ugly next step is asking to be taken
Bring the parts of yourself that feel a bit brittle, or heavy, or just f**ing sick and tired of pretending everything is fine.
Everything is not fine
We want the weary you, the honest you, the “I’m-not-ready-for-winter” you.
We meet on Zoom a few days before the Equinox: we shouldn’t be on our screens for the actual moment
Cute pets & kids welcome on your lap
Gathering offered by donation
These gathering are deliberately tiny: if you pop yourself on the waitlist, we’ll offer another.
